In 1903 he w*a$ elected secretary of the Rapid Transit Subway Construction Company, organized to construct the subway, and in 1904 secretary of the Interboroiigh Rapid Transit Com {»ny, organ­ ized to operate both the subway and elevated railroads o f N ew Y o rk City. In 1905 he was elected secretary of the New Y o rk & Queens County Railroad Company, controlling the railroads in the Borough o f Queens, and in 1906 secretary of the Intcrborough-Metropolitan Company. During 1907, 1908 and 1909 he was elected a director o f all of the above comnanics, as well as sccrctar)* of the Subw ay Realty Company. Subsequently, in 1 9 1 0 ,1 9 1 1 and 19 12, he w as elected, in addition to the above positions, secretary of the New* Y ork Railw ays Company, a director of the Metro­ politan Securities, New Y o rk Transportation and F ifth Avenue Coach Companies, and sec­ retary and director o f a numlicr o f subsidiary conqxmies composing part of the New Y o rk R ailw ays System. M r. Fisher is a member of the Montauk Club. Brooklyn, the Countr)*, Park and Park G olf Clubs, Flainfield, N. J ., and the Pennsyl­ vania Society o f New Y ork. H e recently pur­ chased the homestead in Main township, and aside from his other dutic.s is intcrcstcti in scientific fanning and in raising the standard of the schools in that district. H e received his education in the district schools o f his neighborhood and fitted himself for agricul­ tural pursuits. In 1895 he married Relic Vohe. o f Mifflinville, P a., and b ^ a n farming in Main township, Liter purchasing the farm nnd bringing it to a high state of cultivation. In 1909 M r. Fish er sold his farm and moved to Bloomsburg. purchasing and rebuilding the pro|)eriy at No. 370 East .street, where he now resides. Having rctire<l from business, he has again become interested in the study o f more advanced agriciilturnl methods, and is devoting n great deal o f his lime to experimenting along these lines and in promoting other measures tending tow anis the betterment of the commiiiiity in which he lives. He entered Syracuse U niversity in the fall o f 1905, taking up the course o f mechanical engineering, and gradu­ ated in the class o f 1909. During his course at Syracuse U niversity he played football four years on (he 'V arsity team, and was chosen fo r the All-.American team in 1908. He was also a inemlier of the 'V arsity basketliall team and navy crew* fo r four years, row­ ing in all the races during this period. He w as chosen captain of the 'V arsity crew for the spring o f 1908, having been a member of the crew which w*on the intcr-collegiatc cham­ pionship the previous year, defeating Cornell, Columbia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Geofgetown at the Poughkeepsie regatta. Mr. I'isher is also a graduate of the Brooklyn Polytechnic institute, class o f 1 9 1 1, in elec­ trical engineering. H e is a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, the M onx Head Senior SoclcU*, the Senior Dinner Club, the T au Della Sigma F.iigiiicering Society of Syracuse University, ami the Alumni .Associa­ tion o f N ew Y ork.
