William Crispin married, second, in 1665, Jan e Chidley or Chudleigh, o f County Cork. On Aug. 8 .16 8 7, W illiam Penn granted her and her children 3,000 acres in Pennsyl vania. in right o f her husband’s purchase. W illiam and Anne (Ja sp e r) Crispin, who w as the first su r veyor general o f Pennsylvania, came to Penn sylvania with Capt. Thomas Holme, the second surveyor general, in the ship “ Am ity.’’ which left the Downs A pril 2 3. 1682 (probably her second voyage). On arrival, he no doubt lived with Captain Holme's family at Shackamaxon. H e was a member of the Free Society o f T rad ers in Pennsylvania. In the list of “ First P u r chasers” the names o f William Crispin and Silas Crispin are bracketed as purchasers o f 5,000 acres. William w as probably the actual purchaser; after his death S ilas w as given coo acres in Hilltown township, Philadclp)tia county (now in Abington tow'nship, Mont gom ery county), as his share o f his father's land. H e also lu d a plantation o f 500 acres on Pcnnepack creek, in Dublin township, I’hiladelphia county, on which he lived from 1684 to the end o f his life.
