Rinard is a successful business nun o f progressive ideas, and keeps a well stocked store which is liberally patronized by the people o f his town. Like his father he is a Republican, and a member of the Lutheran Church, of which he is steward and trustee. H e is a past grand o f Concordia Lodge, I. O. O . F ., and member of the grand lodge o f that order in Pennsyl vania. H e married Nov. 3. 18 8 1, Lucille Florence W ardcll. who was bom in Moscow, Pa., daughter o f John and M argaret (B escckcr) W ardcll, and granddaughter of Conrad B ^ cck c r, who was killed in action in the Civil war. T he W ardcll family is of English descent and the Beseckers are of German origin. M rs. Rinard aids her hus band in (he conduct of the store and has proved a successful business woman. She is a member of the W . C . T . U . and prominent in the cause of temperance. M r. and M rs. J . II. A r r a h a m L i n c o i . n R i n a r d, teller of the First National Rank o f Catawissa, is the youngest son of the late Solomon Dyer Rinard. H e w as bom in Catawissa A pril 6, 1864, at tended the public schools of the town, and after graduation entered his father's store, where he clerked and acted a s assistant ex press agent. In 1900 he w as appointed teller of the First National Bank, which position of responsibility he has held with great credit ever since. H e is a nun o f quiet tastes and temperate habits, and is popular with alt who have the pleasure o f coming in contact with him. In ]ioIittc.al affiliation he has followed the example o f his father, who was a Repub lican. H e is also a member of the Lutheran Church, a past grand of the I. O. O. F ., and a member of the B . P. O. Elks, o f Bloomsbury Lodge, N o. 436. F R A N K C. Americati, a weekly newspaper. Mr. Angle has been associated with (he growth o f Dan ville ill many ways, and has done much for the advancement o f its interests. H e is a native of the place, bom Feb. 25, 1854, son of William and Henrietta (P u rsel) Angle. His paternal grandfather was a leading agricul turist of Greenwood township, Columbia county, where he Uved a long and useful life. William Angle, the father o f Frank C. Angle, w as bom in Greenwood township. Co lumbia county. H e removed to Danville when a young man, establishing a general mercan tile business in a store opposite the Danville public librar)*. T he building in which he was located has since been tom down. H e was engaged in that business fo r o ver twenty years, at the expiration o f which period he had accumulated enough wealth to enable him to retire and spend his d efin in g days in ease and comfort. H e owned many valuable pieces of property in Danville and built a block of dwelling houses on Church street. H e served in the town council fo r several terms, and was also a commissioner o f waterworks. In political matters he faithfully supported the principles of the Republican party. T o him and bis w ife, Henrietta ( P u r ^ ), a daughter o f William Pursel. o f Jersey Shore, P a., were bom the following children: Fran k C . : Lizzie H., the w ife o f J . E . Buley. o f Syracuse, N. V .; and William P., a well known dentist and business man o f Jersey Shore. M r. .Angle died at the age o f sixty-three years. Fran k C . Angle, after completing the re quired course at the common schools, attended the civil engineering dqiartment o f I.ehigb University, at South Bethlehem. P a., from which he was graduated with the class of 1876. H e then took up the study o f law with Thomas Galbrclh. a learned law yer o f Dan ville. and was admitted to the Montour count)* bar in 1879. a fte r which he formed a jiartncrship with Jam es Scarlet and began practice. Subsequently this association w as dissolv^. and M r . Angle has since been occupied with the conduct o f various business enterprises. H e is a man o f high principles, shrewd and energetic. He has been closely connected wiih many public undertakings, esiiccially where the w c lu rc of the borough o f Danville has been concerned. H e w as for .several )*ears a mem ber of the board o f commissioners o f water works. D anville; he was manager of the Dan ville Opera House fo r twenty-seven years: and w as proprietor of the Danville .Atlas Man ufacturing (Company, which w as established tn 1875. and discontinued in 1902.
