For obvious reasons, the length of the dromos cannot be measured ; but a couple of stones left by the demarch of Skripu proves that the old passage measured in breadth five metres eleven centimetres. The height of the entrance gate is five metres forty-four centimetres, two metres seventy centimetres broad at the bottom, and two metres forty- three centimetres at the top ; that is to say, its dimensions are a trifle less than those of its Mycenian fellow. The lintel, on the other hand, is very much smaller, being only five metres in length (Fig. i6o).
