Dr. Gilchrist in the Preface (p. xxv) to this work, expresses his intention of publishing the Bengali version, which seems to be the best, in a separate form, not in Roman but in Bengali character. I do not know whether it was ever published. Long mentions Dr. Gilchrist’s translation of the AJsop’s fable published in 1803.
