Kwe Sing Kong or Coxinga, having conquered Formosa from the Dutch, sends a mission to Ma- nila, requiring the payment of tribute, and his ac- knowledgment as sovereign of the Philippines. The governor of the Philippines, in consequence of the hostility of Coxinga, directs all the Chinese to quit the Philippines.
