She is dressed in a red skirt and an olive-green jacket trimmed with white fur, and holds a glass of wine in her left hand. On the table to the left is a jug. An old woman leaves the room by a door on the left. On the right is a bed. It is a mediocre work. Signed in full in the left-hand bottom corner near the table leg ; panel, 1 6 inches by i inches. In the Wachtmeister collection, Vanas, Southern Sweden, 1895 catalogue, No. 58. 799. A YOUNG MAN AND A GIRL WRITING. In the right foreground a girl dressed in silk sits facing left in profile at a table ; her figure is seen to the knee. She holds a pen in her right hand ; her left hand hangs down.
