On a river-bank are seven cows, watched by a young herdsman with a dog. By the water to the right is a group of men and women with two horses. On the opposite bank are houses. A HORSEMAN CONVERSING WITH A MAN IN FRONT OF AN INN. A horseman converses with a man in blue, in front of an inn on a wooded knoll. Near them are goats and sheep ; farther back, near the inn, are a waggon and cattle. To the right is a view of Dordrecht. An early work, still in the style of Van Goyen. Signed, A. A FLOCK OF SHEEP, A SHEPHERD, AND HORSEMAN. Two gentlemen ride along a road towards ruins in the middle distance. The foremost, on a grey horse, has a blue cloak. A shepherd and his flock are by the roadside, near the ruins, at the foot of a steep hill filling the right half of the picture. In the distance is a lake, with more hills. Cloudy sky. Signed, A.
