Near the quay, and close to the church tower, are two boats, the nearer containing five persons, the other containing four. Beyond is a coasting-vessel with main-sail hoisted. On the opposite side a merchantman with sails furled rides at anchor ; her dark hull contrasts finely with the glittering surface of the river. In the distance are many small craft.
