A hilly and wooded landscape with a river, on the bank of which, in the middle distance, is a fortified town. In the foreground is a large company of ladies and gentle- men on horseback, with attendants on foot, who are hawking. By the river-side in front sits a lady, to whom a gentleman offers fruit from a basket held by a woman. Farther away a groom leads two horses.
