Landscape with Figures; A Sportsman shooting. Near a fine piece of water in the left foreground is a horse drawing a sand-cart. Not far away is a light-coloured horse with a red saddle. Behind it, a boy kneels to tie his shoe-lace ; he has a dog beside him. On the right a man on a grey horse rides away ; another man with a pack walks beside him. Near him is a little boy. Nearer the front a young peasant leads a horse. In the middle distance are hills ; on the highest point to the left, two persons look towards the horizon. At a stream on the right two travellers water their horses. Beyond them are three anglers, a boy bathing, and two other boys on the farther bank. A sportsman, preceded by two dogs, comes forward. On the right is a sand-hill crowned with a few stunted trees. "A good example of the master" (Sm.). Panel, 17 inches by 21 inches.
