One of them grasps him by the hair and is about to strike him with his sword. The other assailant has had his horse shot under him, but grasps the enemy's lance with one hand and holds a pistol in the other. Behind the grey horse lies a dead soldier ; a wounded man is escaping. Panel, 9 inches by 13 inches. In the collection of the Marquess of Hastings, 1829 (Sm., who valued it at 775#. Amidst them, nearer the front, a man has fallen with his horse. On the right a
