She converses with a man who stands to the right, and is seen half from the back and half in profile. Behind them is the large open door of a thatched stable overgrown with vine, in which a man is grooming a horse. By the right door-post lies a pig. To the left of the door are bushes, and behind them a gable roof. Signed " Ostade P." ; canvas, 17^ inches by 14 inches. Mentioned by Ch. Blanc, Le Tresor de la Curiosite, ii. 112.
