Cepero, and others, Cologne, December 9, 1898, No. 21. 3. A Sleeping Peasant. In an interior. At the back other figures are at a table. A good little picture that is probably genuine. Panel, 15^ inches by loj inches. In the Sauvan collection. In the Avignon Museum, 1880 catalogue, No. 362. A BOOR ASLEEP. In front of a wooden partition on the right a peasant sits on a wooden block, facing the spectator ; his head is leaning back and he is asleep. He wears a light grey jacket and purple and light red breeches. The heel of his right foot rests on a small block, and the toe points upward. His right hand is thrust into his doublet. His left arm rests on a table with the hand hanging down. On the table are a jug and a glass ; another jug is on the floor, and a third hangs on the wall. In the left background are three other peasants carousing. Panel, 14 inches by io| inches.
