She holds a lighted candle in her left hand and has in her right a spoon, with which she is feeding two children. In front are various copper utensils, seen in the bright light of the candle. At the back are card- players. Panel, g| inches by 7! inches. In the Belvedere Gallery, Vienna, 1864 catalogue, p. 81, No. 1 1 ; it was there in 1833 (Sm.). It is not now in the Imperial Gallery. 238*. A Woman with a Lighted Candle and a Boy. Half- length. The boy tries to light a candle at the woman's candle. She protects her light with her hand.
