With a proper only would the economy in ?he use of wa?er not produce per acre on ?he area now irrigated increase, but the water saved could be used for irrigating areas at present unirrigated; and there would thus be a double advantage. It is very much to be desired, therefore, that a practical module or meter should be devised by which the cultivator could be made to pay according to the amount of water which he uses.
