Welles, Albert. A Descendant from one of the Earli) Puritanic Governors. An American writer; b. in New York City early in the nineteenth century, and now resident there ; was a descendant of Thomas Welles, (1598-1660), who was lieutenant-governor of Connecticut, 1656, and governor, 1658, and d. at Wethers- field, Conn., 1660.
