"After a few years ia Victoria, he est tied in Brisbane where he spent the remainder of his Ufa He was admitted a solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1865. Called to U» Legislative Council in 1885, he was appointed in the same year Postmas- ter-General In the Griffith Ministry, and subsequently held the same office combined with the portfolio of Education in the Mcllwralth and Nelson Ministries. He also held portfolios in the Byrnes and Dickson Govern- ments. Died 28th February 1902.

WlVnB-ZBTXVO, Kon. William Irriag, F.R.G.S. (1880-1901), Victorias paetorallst, proprietor of the Stanhope estate. For many years member for the Northern Province in the Legislative Council of Victoria. Died 28th June 1901.

YOUX., Mr James AvadeU, K.C.M.G. (1810-1904), identified for man? years with Tasmania. He took an -active part In the introduction of Shimon into the waters of Tasmania and New Zealand. Cr. K.CM.Q. tn 1894.
