The origin of "tir" is doubtful
The words "huah," "kuda," makan," are probably pure Malay.
"Mat" apparently comes from the same source as "Sah." If "Sah" is derived from the Persian, so probably is "mat." "Sah Mat" may mean "the king is dead."
