The marriage of the Lamb.
CHAP. XIX, XX.
The vision of the Word of God.

23 [1] And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; [2] and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for [3] thy merchants were the great men of the earth; [4] for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

24 And [5] in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that [6] were slain upon the earth.

CHAP.XIX.

1 God is praised in heaven for judging the great whore, and avenging the blood of his saints. 6 The triumph because of the marriage of the Lamb. 10 The angel, who shewed John these things, refuseth to be worshipped. 11 The vision of the Word of God sitting upon a white horse, and followed by his armies. 17 The fowls called to feast on the flesh of those that took part with the beast, 20 The beast and false prophet cast into the lake of fire and brimstone; and the rest slain.

AND after these things [7] I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; [8] Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2 For [9] true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and [10] hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3 And again they said, Alleluia. And [11] her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

4 And [12] the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, [13] Amen; Alleluia.

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, [14] Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, [15] both small and great.

6 [16] And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for [17] the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for [18] the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8 And [19] to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and ‖‖ Or, bright. white: [20] for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

9 And he saith unto me, Write, [21] Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, [22] These are the true sayings of God.

10 And [23] I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, [24] See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren [25] that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

11 [26] And I saw heaven opened, and behold [27] a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called [28] Faithful and True, and [29] in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 [30] His eyes were as a flame of fire, [31] and on his head were many crowns; [32] and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 [33] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called [34] The Word of God.

14 [35] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, [36] clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And [37] out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and [38] he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and [39] he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And [40] he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, [41] KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying [42] to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, [43] Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 [44] That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 [45] And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 [46] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and [47] them that worshipped his image. [48] These both were cast alive into a lake of fire [49] burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant [50] were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: [51] and all the fowls [52] were filled with their flesh.
