Mezreh September 8. 1915.

You are probably amazed that I am no longer in Musch; but since I have no work there now, on August 11, I traveled with Sister Alma and some of our people and three teachers to Mezreh. When and if I can go back is unknown. But I think I'll stay in Mezreh this winter. Sister Alma is probably traveling home, and I hope she will visit Kristiania too. At this time one can write so little and many letters are also lost. I also wanted to come home, but first I will see how it goes here. Maybe I'm not coming alone; maybe taking a few teachers; but I do not know what you at home will say and whether it is possible. Why I want to do it, I cannot explain further. Maybe I won’t do it either, am not sure, but God will show me the right thing. Would like to hear your opinion, however.

You may imagine how heavy it was for me to leave Musch and the work there; but it was necessary, however, I hope to be able to visit the station again during the year. Pray that God will do so.

Before there is peace, I will probably not come home. I haven't written much home; this year also I have had a lot to do, not this either can one tell so much about, nor does you bear it. - Alas, dear Mrs. H., you have no idea what I've been through. For the last two months I have become another human being.

On July 6, I became sick from typhoid, after most of the sick people in the city were healthy again. It was as if I got to be healthy as long as the others were sick. I was tired and therefore infected. I've been working with typhoid patients all the time, so it was weird I didn't get it sooner. It was during the worst time I lay sick, and how heavy it was you can only imagine. God's ways and thoughts
