Dörtyol a Turkish officer has converted to Christianity. More will come, too, and great work will come.

On May 7, Mr. v. Dobbeler with family traveled to Marasch, and from there they will travel to Germany. Mr. Blank is dead and sister Anna and Adele were very ill; but is now on the road to recovery. Only Sister Hedvig Büll is left here, she is doing well. We work together in the orphanage. Everywhere there were many Turkish robbers, but French military along with Armenian soldiers are working hard to improve conditions. Many of the robbers have been arrested, and we are at ease now. With all my family, I send you many greetings. God bless you! Today we have a prayer meeting in the church. Pray for us!

Garabed, teacher.

Judging by this letter, the situation in Armenia looks brighter, but it is only in certain regions, especially where the Europeans have taken control; but inland there is unrest and great distress. An article, which I have taken out of " Sonnenaufgang " clearly shows this.

Dear friends, our brothers and sisters need us, they call on us and pray that we will help them so that not all of them will perish. Let all of us who love the Armenian people turn to them and unite to ask the Lord to give peace and security to the afflicted people so that they may experience a brighter time after all these years of tribulation.

Many heartfelt greetings with Matt. 18, 19 from your covenant in the love of Jesus

Bodil Biørn.

From Armenia, disturbing intelligence is arriving. «The Times» reports in an article: In the southern part of Russian Armenia, there is a terrible famine, as the Turkish troops, even after the ceasefire, partly abducted the harvest and all foodstuffs and partly destroyed them. The distress in Erivan mocks every description. You can hardly get food anymore, and many families only feed on clover and grass. Every day you see the bodies of people who are starved to death, lying on the streets. The starving people even offend bodies. “The Conference National Arménnienne”, published in Paris, calls for help to the Allied people, which reads as follows: "Because The Paris Conference has postponed the arrangement of the Free Armenian State, a fateful situation has arisen. Turkish Armenia is not yet liberated and the Armenians who have fled to the Caucasus have been prevented from returning and tending to the spring harvest. In addition, agents of the Unity and Progress Committee are upholding the Muhammadans against the Christians. In Aleppo, massacres of the Armenians have taken place. Caucasian tartars, under the command of Turkish officers, have occupied Armenian lands to denounce them, and thousands die of hunger and disease. Therefore, the Armenians direct a prayer to the Allied people that the Armenian question must be resolved as soon as possible at the peace conference, as any postponement can become fatal to the hard-pressed people.
