Bellingham has a splendid theater that cost $155,000, a cold storage plant —the largest north of San Francisco—that cost $150,000, the largest cedar shingle mill, and the largest salmon cannery in the world. Port Townsend has a salmon cannery with a capacity of 100,000 cases, and the Pacific Steel Company’s furnaces are located near by.
