THE BURIAL SERVICE

Having come to the Grave, it is blessed by the following prayer:

Deus, cujus miseratióne ánimæ fidélium requiéscunt, hunc túmulum benedícere dignáre, eique angelum tuum sanctum d{éputa custódem; et quorum quarúmque córpora hic sepeliúntur, ánimas eórum ab ómnibus absólve vínculis delictórum, ut in te semper cum sanctis tuis sine fine læténtur. Per Christum Dóminum nostrum. R. Amen.

O God, by Whose mercy the souls of the faithful find rest, vouch-safe to bless this grave, and depute Thy holy angel to guard it; and absolve the souls of all those whose bodies are buried here from all the bonds of sin, that they may always rejoice in Thee with Thy saints for ever. Through Christ our Lord.

R. Amen.

Here the Corpse and the Grave are sprinkled with Holy Water and are incensed.
