This is, perhaps, the best Abridgment of the Commentaries, the selec- tions having been made with considerable care, and it may be of some use to a student in a review of the original work, but it should be borne in mind that the Commentaries themselves are but an outline of the law, and when this outline is abridged it does not afford sufficient instruction to any class of readers.
