London. 1846. " We do not recommend Mr. Walford's work as a safe guide on mat- ters of legal liability, but as a practical work on the statute law, on the subject and on the practice of Railway law, we think it has great merit." 36 L. M. 179. . A Treatise on the Law respecting Parties to Ac- tions. 2 vols. 12mo. London. 1845. This is the most complete and valuable treatise upon Parties to Ac- tions. 29 L. M. 354. WALKER, HENRY N. Reports of Cases argued and deter- mined in the Court of Chancery of the State of Michigan. 8vo. Detroit. 1845. WALKER, TIMOTHY. An Introductory Lecture on the Dig- nity of the Law as a Profession, delivered at the Cincinnati Col- lege, on the 4th of November, 1837. 8vo. Cincinnati. 1837. "The Lecture contains a bold and spirited outline of the various branches of legal science, and of the subjects with which the law is conversant." 19 A. J. 248. ■ . An Introduction to American Law, designed as a First Book for Students. 2d edition, enlarged and amended. 8vo. Cincinnati. 1844. Judge Walker's Introduction is designed as a first book in the law, pointing out the general outlines of the broad field of jurisprudence, with occasional suggestions for changing some departments of the subjects discussed. It is written with more especial reference to the laws of Ohio, though it is not so particularly local as to interfere with its gene- ral usefulness and applicability. The style of the volume is animated and perspicuous, and the subject matter well arranged, and the author is entitled to much praise, for having furnished law students with so valu- able a guide, to a knowledge of the first principles of the science of jurisprudence. 18 A.
