Bvery man and woman throughout the United Kingdom, whether publisher, wholesaler, retailer, employer or employed, Is entitled to become a member upon payment o( Five Shillings annually or Three Guineas for Life, provided that he or she is engaged In the sale of newspapers. The Annuitant* now nnmber thirty-six, the men receiving ".'>; and the women 20J. per annum each. These Pensions, now amounting to 800i. per annum, are all paid from the dividends arising from Un- invested capital of the Institution. The "Royal Victoria Pension Fund" was established In 1887. It provides pensions of 301. a year each for four widows of newsvendors. The "Francis Fund" provides pensions for one man 251. and one woman 20*. Temporary Relief Is given, not only to Members, bnt to newsvendora or their servants who may be recommended for assistance by Members.
