The Chinese have from a very early date composed nearly all their cycles only of two elementary cycles, one of ten, and the other of twelve members. The names of the decimal-cycle or the ten stems are :

Sü 12, đại 4. 2 Table (1) +ČESKU+KK When combining these stems and branches two by two, beginning with Kiah-Tsze and repeating both series until both commence at the same time, the same combination returns, after the decimal cycle has been repeated six times and the duodecimal cycle five. Thus we obtain the following sexagesimal cycle, called Kiah-Tsze:
