This edition contains several of the author's poems which have not appeared in any previous collection. These, as well as the others in the volume, have been made to follow cach other in the order in which they were written, the author deeming this arrangement to be quite as satisfactory to the reader as any classification founded on the nature of the subjects or their mode of treatment.
