The most exalt, and from whose pinnacle,
The river pours its strength: and having clomb
His star-encount'ring summit, journey thou
Along the southward way, until thou reach
The Amazonian squadrons, hating man,
Who now Themiscyra inhabit, round
Thermodon's stream, whereby is Salmydessus
The iron jaw of ocean, merciless
To sailors, and the stepmother of ships.
They, with glad spirits, will conduct thee on:
