The rihs are almost completely replaced by tuhercles. The specimen reminds one to some extent of the scales whirh Ni-jwm-tnnv depicted and described {ls HolupL tnbm'cnlutusg. It might however he regarded as a portion ul a shell belongng to Il.giganlcus Ar.‘ in which the ribs may be markedly replaced hy tnherrles This form. too. has lwcn luund helore in America in Uppvr thwoninn strata.

We sce partly the back 15. l. h) will! line. concen- tric lines of growth tlimi’l. and partly the front with clmrnt-teristir ornament. as n rule, hnd|_\' preserved. l propose to describe the host preserved specimen somenhot more closely.
