Needful and fair, it seems to me,
That needed most, must be the better.”

The Lover.

“I own that true unto the letter.”

Reason.

“Incline thine ear, while I pursue
The differing nature of the two:
Each one is good within its sphere,
And both great benefits confer.”5810

“And you will not contest
But things which profit most are best.”
