- ' carry them out of the Realm to fell to Strangers, be
" many Times in Danger to be flain, and fometime " imprifoned, and put to Fine and Ranfom by the " fame Eftrangers, and their faid Cloths burnt or for- " feit, becaufe of the great Deceit and Falfhood that " is found in the fame Cloths when they be untacked. " and opened, to the great Slander of the Realm of " England;" ' (z) it is ordained and affented, That ' no plain Cloth tacked nor folded fhall be fet to Sale ' within the faid Counties, but that they be opened,
- upon Pain to forfeit them, fo that the Buyers may fee
' them, and know them, as it is ufed in the County of ' Effex; (3) and that the Workers, Weavers, and ' Fullers fhall put their Seals to every Cloth that they ' fhall work, upon a certain Pain to be limited by the ' Juftices of the Peace ; and that this Ordinance begin ' to hold Place at the Feaft of Saint John Baptljl next ' following.
