FO R ful draping and making of Woollen Cloths, made and draped within this Realm, of the fame, our Sovereign Lord the King, by the Advice of the ' ■ of the Commons, in this prefent Parliament aflcmbled, and by the Authority fame, hath eftabliflied, and enacted divers Ordinances and Statutes for the true making and draping 1 'lien Cloths, and for meafufing in Sale the true Content of the fame in Manner orm following : (2) Firft, That the Wooll which (hall be delivered lor or by the Clothier to ajiy TbeVei Perfon or Perfons for breaking, kembing, carding, or (pinning of the fame, the Delivery thereof there- v fore fhall be by even, juft, and true Poil'c and Weight of Haverdepdis, fealed by Authority, not exceeding' Jj rea,t " in Weight after the Rate of Twelve Pounds fcimed Wooll, above one Quarter of a Pound for the Wafte car of the lame Wooll, and in none other Manner. (3) And that the Breaker or Kember to deliver again to The Weight of the fame Clothier the fame Wooll fo broken and Icembcd, and the Carder and Spinner to deliver again Wools.--. to the faid Clothier Yarn of the fame Wooll, by the fame even, juft, and true Poife and Weight (the j.' Wafte thereof excepted) without any Part thereof concealing, or any more Oil, Water, or other Thing put thereunto deceivably, (4) upon the Pain to forfeit to the Lord of the Leet within the Precinct whereof fuch Default is done, for every fuch Default xlj. d. upon due Proof of fuch Deceit afore, and by the Dif- Cretion of the Mayor, Bailiff, or other Head Officer of the City, Borough, or Town where the Deceit fha'.l appear, the fame Mayor, Bailiff, or Head Officer calling to him fuch Perfons as {hall feem to him conve- nient for the Proof of fuch Deceit. II. Item, That the Weaver, which {hall have the weaving of any Woollen Yarn to be webbed into A Weave Cloth, lhall weave, work, and put into the Web for Cloth to be made thereof, as much, and all the fame put 3 the ¥*ru Yarn, as the Clothier, or any Perlbn for him, fhall deliver to the fame Weaver, with his ufed Mark put ,nt0 ' he Web, to the fame, without changing, or any Parcel thereof leaving out of the fame Web, or that to reftore to me Clothier the Surplus of the fame Yarn, if any fhall be left not put into the fame Web, and with- out any more Oil, Breene, Moifture, Duff, Sand, or other Thing deceivably putting or cafting to the fame Web, upon Pain to forfeit for every Default Three Shillings and Four Pence. III. Item, That no Manner Perfon buy any coloured Wooll, or coloured Woollen Ya r n, of any Carder, Coloured ■ Spinner, or Weaver, but only in open Market, upon Pain of Forfeiture of fuch Wooll and Yarn fo to be bo bought. °P en Market IV. Item, That the Walker and Fuller fliall truly walk, full, thick, and work every Web of Wool- ^' w |k len Yarn which he fliall have to walk, full, thick, or work, without any Flocks, or any other Man- and fuller'/ ner Deceit to be ufed on the fame, and fhall not row nor work any Cloth or Web with any Cards, on Duty. the right Side, nor on the wrong Side, upon Pain to forfeit for every fuch Default Six Shillings Eight Pence. V. Item, That he Clothier, nor other Perfon whatfoever, fliall not put any Cloth to Sale, which when shrinkine of it fhall be full wet fhall fhrinlc more than One Yard in all the L.ngth, and One Quarter of a Yard in the cloth/ Breadth, for the more Part thereof; (2) and Cloths called Narrows or Straits after the Rate, upon Pain Vefles not above to forfeit for every Cloth otherwife put to Sale vj.s. viij. d. andbefide that, to deduct of his Price for the lhc Va -"-' of fame, to be rebated to the Buyer thereof, as much after the Rate as the fame Cloth fo otherwife put to *° s ' &c j ..*"".
