For Obligations to be taken by Two Chief Juftices, the Mayor of the Staple, and the Re- corder of London. Recognifances, were Merchants of the fame Staple; (3) which Recognifances and Knowledges, taker, in Form aforefaid, are not only clear contrary to the true Meaning and Intent of the fame former Efta- tutes, but alfo thereby divers great and fundry Inconveniencies, Damages, and Deceits do daily arife and grow to divers of the Subjects of our Sovereign Lord the King, by reafon of the mifufing of the fame ; and for as much as the King's High.nefs, of his mod high Wifdom, perceiveth the Mifufing and Execution of the fame to be contrary to the Form of the faid former Statutes, therefore his Pleafure is, that fome true, lawful, and reafonable Bond, for Surety of Payment of the Debts of his Subjects, fhall be made and devifed by true and juft Means, which in itfelf may and fhall purport Right and Equity, and alfo confonant to Reafon.'
