LXIV. Courts for the Time being, upon Certificate to him made or to be made of the fame Default and Contempt, Penalty, fhall and may award fuch Proccfs out of the fame Courts againft the fame Offender for not paying of the faid Rent fo referved or to be referved, and alfo for the fame Sums of Money forfeited and to be forfeited by this Aft, as by his or their Difcretion fhall feem convenient. LXV. A.nd be it alio enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons hereafter make Acquittance fj- • lawful Payment to any of the faid Trcafurcrs, or general or particular Receivers of any of the fame the Tenth. Courts, deputed and affigned for the fame, of any Sum or Sums of Money due to the King's Highnefs, his Heirs or Succeflbrs, for any yearly Rent or Tenth, and upon or after fuch Payment offer unto the fame Treafurer, or general or particular Receiver, one lawful and fufficicnt Acquittance ready made, to be af- figned by the fame Treafurer, or general or particular Receiver, witneffing the Receipt of the faid Sum or Sums of Money fo paid ; that then the faid Treafurer, general or particular Receiver, fhall with his own Hand affign the fame Acquittance without taking any Fee or Reward for the making of the fame Acquit- tance, (2) upon Pain to forfeit and lofe for every Time offending contrary to this Act, forty Shillings j one Moiety whereof to be to the King's Highnefs, and the other Moiety to the Party that will purfue for the fame ; (3) and if the Parties which hereafter fhall happen to pay to the fame Treafurer, or general or particular Receiver, any fuch Sum or Sums of Money, and do not bring an Acquittance with him to be affigned, as is beforefaid ; that then if the fame Treafurer, or general or particular Receiver, upon Requeft to him made, fhall make and deliver unto the fame Party one fufficient Acquittance, teftifying the fame Receipt, that then the fame Treafurer, or general or particular Receiver, or any of his Clerks, fhall re- ceive or take of the fame Party for the making of the faid Acquittance, not above Four-pence, (4) upon Pain to forfeit for every fuch Acquittance twenty Shillings, for which he or they fhall happen to take above the faid Sum of Four-pence, to be recovered as is beforefaid, that is to fay, the one Moiety thereof to the Ufe of the King's Highnefs, his Heirs and Succeflbrs, and the other Moiety thereof to the Party that will purfue for the fame. LXVI. And be it alfo enacted, That the fame Acquittance fhall be a fufficient Difcharge according to the Tenor and Ffflct of the fame. LXVIL And be it alfo further enacted and ordained by the Authority aforefaid, That if any of the fame fj ow _„,.), - as - general or particular Receivers, which now be or hereafter fhall be within any of the faid Courts, happen /hall pay for »n to pay to any Perfon or Perfons any Annuity, Penfion or other Rent, that then if the fame Perfon or Per- Acquittance fons, upon the Receipt thereof, deliver unto the fame general or particular Receiver one fufficient and law- which doth re- ful Acquittance fealed and figned,. teftifying the fame Receipt, that then the fame general or particular Re- cc "' e any An ° ceiver fhall receive the fame Acquittance, without taking or receiving any Fee or Reward for the making of the fame ; (2) and if the fame Party to whom the faid general or particular Receiver have fo contented and paid any fuch Annuity, Penfion or Rent, do not bring with him one fufficient Acquittance figned and fcalcd, teftifying the Receipt of the fame Money, by reafon whereof the fame general or particular Re- ceiver, by himfclf or his Clerk, maketh one Acquittance for the Receipt of the fame Annuity, Penfion or Rent, that then the fame Receiver or his Clerk fhall not receive or take for the making of fuch Acquittance, which he fhall fo happen to make, above four Pence, upon Pain to forfeit for every fuch Acquittance which he fhall happen to refufe, being ready made and offered to be delivered to him, as is abovefaid, twenty Shillings; (3.) and for every Acquittance which he fhall hereafter happen to make for any the Payments aforefaid, and to receive for the making of the lame Acquittance above the Sum of Four-pence, to forfeit twenty Shillings ; the one Moiety to the King, and the other to the Party that will fue for the fame; (4) and alfo that the fame general or particular Receiver, or their Deputies, which hereafter fhall happen to pay any fuch Annuity, Penfion orJRent, fhall not retain or take of the Party to whom he fhall happen to pay the -
