An A£l for Relief of Colleftors of publick Monies, and their AfTiftants and Deputies. BE it enabled by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in Parliament now aflembled, and by Authority of the fame. That all Colledors and other Perfons who have levied or collected, or (hall levy or colledl, any Sum or Sums of Money, or other Adl done, or (hall do in order to the fame, by Virtue of any A&. of Parliament now in Force, or of any other Aft, Order or Ordinance allowed to be put in Execution by any fuch A6t of Parliament, as aforefaid, and who is or (hall be fued for or concerning the fame, by any other than the King's Majefty, his Heirs and SuccefTors, he and they may plead the General KTue, and thereupon give the fpecial Matter in Evidence for his Excufe and Juftification : And that all and every Per- fon or Perfons already fued or impleaded for any the Caufes aforefaid, may notwithftanding any Plea or Demurrer already made by any fuch Defendant, have Liberty to change fuch his Plea, and to plead the General Iffue, if he fliall think fit fo to do, IL Provided always. H E R E A S againft the Laws of this Kingdom great Number of Sheep, and great Qiiantities <rf Wool, Wool-fells, Mortlings, Shorlings, Yarn made of Wool, Wool-flocks, Fullers-Earth ( Fulling-clay, are fecretly exported, tranfported, carried and conveyed out of the Kingdom oi Englam Dominion of Wales, the Town of Benvick upon Tiveed, and Kingdom of Ireland, into the Kingdom Scotla?2d, and into foreign Parts, to the great Decay of the Woollen Manufactures, the Ruin of many F; milies, and the Deftruction of the Navigation and Commerce of the Kingdoms, Town, and Dominioi aforefaid, which is like daily to increafe, if fome further Remedy be not provided, and further Penalt' impofed upon the Offenders therein :' IL Be it therefore enaifted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That if any Perfon or Perfons (hall from and after the (irft Day of Augiiji one thoufand fix hundred (ixty and two, diredly or indirectly export, tranfport, carry or convey, or fhall caufe to be exported, tranfported, carried or conveyed out of or from the Kingdom of England, Dominion of f Vales, or Town r{ Berwick upon Tweed, or after thefirft T)?ly of yanuary one thoufand fix hundred fixty :; and tv/o out of the Kingdom of Ireland, into any Parts or Places out of the Kingdoms or Dominion afore- faid, or into the Kingdom of Scotland, any Sheep or Wool whatfoever, of the Breed or Growth of thq Kingdoms or Dominion aforefaid, or any Wool-fells, Mortlings, Shorlings, Yarn made of Wool, Woold flocks, or any Fullers-Earth or Fulling-Clay whatfoever, or (hall directly or indireflly pack or load, or, caufe to be packed or loaden upon any Horfe, Cart or other Carriage, or (hall load or lay on Board, or caufe to be loaden or laid on Board, in any Ship or other Veflel, in any Place within the Kingdoms of En^ land cr Ireland, D^m.inion of Wales, or Town of Benvick upon Tzveed aforefaid, any fuch Sheep, Wool, Wool-fells, Mortlings,, Shorlings, Yarn made of Wool, Wool-flocks, Fullers-Earth or Fulling-Clay, to the Intent orPurpofe to export, tranfport, carry or convey the fame, or to caufe the fame to be exported', tranfported, carried or conveyed oui of tlie Kingdoms of England or Ireland, the Dominion of Wales, or Town of Berwick upon Tzoeed aforefaid, into the Kingdom of Scotland or into any Foreign Parts; that- then every fuch Offence ihal! be adjudged Felony, and the Offender or Offenders being duly convi(5te<^ (hall fuffer and forfeit as in Cafe of Felony. . • : 8 TLifejI.
