Petty Chapmen, and other Perfons defcribed as aforefaid, and for and upon all Muflins, to be paid da- y^i_ ring the refpeftive Times for which they are granted, or are to continue, by virtue of this A61 as afore- faid (over and above all other Duties and Impofitions whatfoever, already charged for or upon the fame Commodities and Perfons, or any of them refpefiively, by any other Laws or Statutes now in Force) and to be afcertained, fecured, raifed, levied, recovered, anfwered, paid, and accounted for, to the Ufes and Purpofcs in this A£t expreffed, by fuch Rules, Ways, Means and Methods, and under fuch Penal- ties and Forfeitures, and with fuch Diflribution of the (aid Penalties and Forfeitures, and fubjeil to fuch Drawbacks, Allowances, and Repayments, and in fuch Manner and Form in all Refpefts, as the like Duties, Impofitions, and Sums of Money refpectively granted or continued by the faid Aft of the twelfth Year of his faid late Majefty's Reign, are thereby, or by any other Law, whereunto the iaid A6t hath Reference, prefcribed, enafted, or appointed to be afcertained, fecured, raifed, levied, recovered, an- fwered, paid, and accounted for during the Continuance thereof refpe<£tively. II. And it is hereby enaded by the Authority aforefaid. That all fuch of the Powers, Diredions, Pe- Powers of the nalti'es and Forfeitures, Claufes, Matters and Things, provided,^ fettled, or eftablifhed by the faid Afe of '"^'"^ f^=* «" the fixth, ninth, and twelfth Years of his faid late Majefty's Reign, or by any of them, or by any other " ' hSt now in Force, whereunto the fame, or any of them, have or hath Relation, for the better raifing, levying, recovering, anfwering, or paying the faid refpesSive Duties thereby granted, or for making any Drawbacks, Repayments, or Allowances out of any of the faid feveral and refpedive Duties upon Expor- tations, fhall be revived and be continued, and be in Force and Virtue during the Continuance of thic Aft, and further for the Recovery of all the Arrearages and Sums of Money, which fliall become due or payable to her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeffors, upon this Aft, in as full and ample Manner, to all In- ■ tents and Purpofes, as if the faid Powers, Direftions, Penalties, Forfeitures, Claufes, Matters and Things, and every of them, were again repeated and re-enafted in the Body of this prefent Aft. III. And it is hereby enafted, That a certain Claufe in an Aft made in the fecond Year of the Reign CUufe of zVT. of King William and Queen Mary, intituled, An A Si for the encouraging the dijlilling of Brandy and^^- <"■ a- .=-9«  Spirits from Corn, and for laying feveral Duties on Low Wines or Spirits of the firft Extraction, relating to f'^-Ji^feYived. Strong Waters, Brandy, Aqua Vitis, and other excifeable Liquors brought from the Iflands of Guernfey, ferfey. Sari, or Alderney, and all the Charges, Duties, Penalties, and every Article and Thing therein contained, which were revived by the faid Aft of the twelfth Year of his faid late Majefty's Reign, and were to be of full Force during the Continuance thereof, fhall be further continued, and be of full Force and Virtue, during the Continuance of this prefent Aft, in as full and ample Manner, to all Intents and Purpofes, as if the faid Claufe was herein Word for Word repeated. " IV. And whereas great Abufes have been committed by feveral Perfons in lending or letting out to hire •' the Licences by them taken out to trade as Hawkers, Pedlars, or Petty Chapmen;" Be it enafted and de- clared by the Authority aforefaid. That from and after the firft Day of May one thoufand kvzn hundred Penalty on Vti- and five, every Perfon, who being aftually trading as an Hawker, Pedlar, or Petty Chapman (for which '"letting out his he or (he ought to have a Licence, purfuant to this or the faid Aft of the twelfth Year of his faid late °^ Licence, Majefty's Reign) fhall not, upon Demand, have his, her, or their Licences ready to be produced, fhall be adjudged to forfeit, as if fuch Perfon had traded without any Licence granted to him, her, or them ; • and fuch Perfon in that Cafe fliall and may be committed, and the Forfeiture recovered and levied in fuch Manner, as is direfted by this or any of the former Afts for licenfing Hawkers, Pedlars, and Petty Chap- men, in cafe of trading without Licence : And that from and after the faid firft Day of May one thou- fand feven hundred and five, in cafe any Perfon fliall lend or let out to hire any Licence to him or her , granted, the Perfon lending or letting out to hire fuch Licence, and the Perfon trading under Colour of "the fame, fhall either of them forfeit the Sum of forty Pounds, one Moiety thereof to the Queen's Ma- jefty, the other Moiety thereof to any Perfon that will inform or fue for the fame, to be recovered, with Cofts of Suit, by Aftion of Debt, Bill, Plaint or Information, in any of her Majefty's Courts of Re- cord, and the Perfon fo lending or letting out to hire fuch Licence fhall alfo forfeit the fame. V. And for the increafing her Majefty's Revenues upon fome of the Commodities before in this Aft charged (to wit) upon Coft'ee, Cocoa Nuts, Chocolate, Cocoa Pafte, Tea, Nutmegs, Cinnamon, Cloves, Mace, and Piftures, to be imported within or during the Term herein after-mentioned ; and to the End more Money may be raifed thereby for carrying on the faid War, and other her Majefty's moft neceffary Occafions, it is hereby further enafted by the Authority aforefaid.
