And to the end all the Monies arifing by the faid Duties upon Coals, Culm, and Cynders, and by The Officers for the laid Duties upon Houfes by this A£l granted, may be duly and certainly raifed and brought into managing the the faid Receipt of Exchequer for the Purpofes aforefaid ;' It is hereby further enacted by the Authority Duticshable to aforefaid, That from time to time, during the Continuance of this Ail, there fhall be appointed fuch ^^ ^^ . . "* and fo many Juflices of the Peace, Commiflioners of the Cufloms, Receivers General, ColleiSors, Sur- veyors, and other Of&cers, as fhall be proper and neceffary for managing, governing, levying, collefting, receiving, and paying the refpeftive Duties by this ASt granted, and for keeping and rendring the Ac- counts of the fame; and that the faid Receivers General, Colleftors, Surveyors, and other Officers, who are or (hall be concerned in the raifing, coUedling, receiving, and paying the faid refpedlive Duties hereby granted, or any of them, and keeping and rendring the feveral Accounts thereof, fhall perform their feve- ral Duties therein, as to them refpeftively fhall appertain, under fuch and the like Penalties, Forfeitures, and Difabilities, for any Offence or Negleft therein, or for detaining, diverting, or mifapplying any Part of the faid Monies, as are prefcribed and to be inflidled by Virtue of an A6t of Parliament, made and paffed in the ninth Year of the Reign of his late Majefty King William the Third, intituled. An Jn 9 w. 3.0. 44§ Jhr raifing a Sum not exceeding two Millions, upon a Fund for Payment of Annuities, after the Rate of eight Pounds per Centum per Annum, and for fettling the Trade to the Eaft Indies, for the like Offence or Ne- gleft relating to the Duties on Salt, and upon ftampt Vellum, Parchment, and Paper, thereby granted or referred unto, or for detaining, diverting, or mifapplying any Part of the Monies, which were granted, or appropriated by the Afi: laft mentioned. XIII. And be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That yearly and every Year during the faid Term 135000I. to be of thirty-two Years, reckoning the firft Year to begin from the nine and twentieth Day of September one ^'^^ y^^'y ^'""*» thoufand feven hundred and ten, the full Sum of one hundred thirty-five thoufand Pounds, by or out of the Monies to arife by the faid Duties on Coals, Culm, and Cynders, and by the faid Duties on Houfes by this A£t granted, or any of them, and to be brought into the Receipt of the Exchequer, as aforefaid, in cafe the fame fhall extend thereunto, fhall be the whole and entire yearly Fund ; and in cafe all the Monies arifing into the Exchequer, of or for the faid Duties, fhall not amount to one hundred thirty-five thoufand Pounds per Annum, then the Monies fo arifing, fo far as the fame will extend, fhall be Part of the yearly Fund, for and towards the anfwering or paying of the Annuities herein after mentioned ; and in Deficiency to Ife cafe the faid Duties by this Act granted, fhall at any Time or Times appear to be fo deficient or low in p^i^m^t the Produce of the fame, as that within any one Year, to be reckoned, as aforefaid, the faid Monies arifing into the Exchequer, for or upon Account of the fame Duties, fhall not amount to fa much as one hun- dred thirty-five thoufand Pounds, or to fo much as fhall be fufficient to difcharge and fotisfy all the Annuities by this A6t appointed, or intended to be paid, within or for the fame Year refpeftively. That then and fo often, and in every fuch Cafe, fo much as fhall be wanting to make up the faid Fund for every or any fuch Year, fhall be fupplied and made good, from time to time, out of the firft Aid to be granted in Parliament next after fuch Deficiency {hall appear, and fhall from time to time be transferred thereunto, as foon as the fame fhall be granted. XIV. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That it fhall and may be lawful for any Natives or Fo- Perfon or Perfons, Natives or Foreigners, Bodies Politick or Corporate, to contribute for or towards ad- reigners may be- vancing the Sum of one million five hundred thoufand Pounds, for carrying on the faid War, by paying, comeAdventu- at or before the firft Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and ten, to any Receiver or Receivers wters. to be appointed for that Purpofe, as is herein after mentioned, the Sum of ten Pounds, or divers entire Sums of tea Poimds, upon this Aft; and that for the raifing the faid Sum of one million five hundred C c c 2 thoufand
