XIX. And it is hereby enafted, That all and fingular the faid feveral Penalties and Forfeitures by this Penalties howtc Ai9: impoled on any Offender or Offenders againft the fame or any Part thereof, (hall and may be fued be recoveteti. for and recovered by Adion or Adions of Debt, Bill, Plaint or Information, in any of her Majefty's Courts of Record, wherein no Effoin, Privilege, Prote£lion or Wager of Law fhall be admitted ; and the faid feveral and refpeftive Penalties and Forfeitures, that fliall happen from Time to Time to be recover- ed, fhall be and remain, the one Moiety thereof to her Majefty, her Heirs and Succeilbrs, and the other Moiety thereof to fuch Perfon or Perfons who fhall or will inform againft the Offender or Offenders againft this prefent A£f, and fhall and will fue for the faid Penalties and Forfeitures upon the fame; and on every fuch Recovery, fuch Perfon or Perfons fo informing, and profecuting for the faid Penalties and Forfeitures, fhall recover, and have alfo taxed and paid their full Cofts of Suit. XX. Provided always. That if any Poftmafter of any refpedlive Stages on any Poft Roads, in any her t,"/'^^^i, Majefty's Dominions, now fettled or hereafter to be fettled, doth not or cannot furnifti any Perfon or Per- „of"„i^ fons riding in Poft, with fufficient Horfes within the Space of one half Hour after Demand, that then fuch Hoifes in one Perfon or Perfons is and are hereby underftood to be left at Liberty to provide themfelves as conveniently half Hour. as they can to the next Stage, and fo at every Stage where he or they fhall not be furnifhed as aforefaid ; and the Perfon or Perfons who fhall furnifli fuch Horfes, fliall not therefore be liable to any Penalties or Forfeitures contained in this A£f by Reafon thereof. XXI. Provided always. That if through Default or Negleft of the Poftmafter General or his Deputy Penalty <ra Pois. for the Time being, any Perfon or Perfons riding in Poft fhall fail as aforefaid, of being furniftied with a mafter notfro- fufficient Horfe or Horfes, for his or their Ufe after Demand as aforefaid, that then and in every fuch Cafe "'^'"Z- the Poftmafter General or his Deputy fo offending, fhall forfeit the Sum of five Pounds Sterling ; the one Moiety to her Majefty, her Heirs or Succeffors, and the other Moiety to him or them who fhall fue for the fame in any Court of Record, to be recovered and divided as aforefaid. XXII. Provided always, and be it further enadfed. XXIV. Provided always, and be it enabled by the Authority'aforefaid, That fuch Poftmafter General, Poftmafter, &e. and all Officers and Deputies adling under him, and all Officers belonging to the faid General Poft Office, how to qualify within that Part of the faid united Kingdom c-siWtA England, receiving the Sacrament according to the "'^'^• Ufage of the Church of England., and taking, making and fubfcribing the Teft, and the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy and Abjuration, appointed by any of the Laws of the faid Part of the faid united King- • dom, to be taken, made, and fubfcribed by Officers in publick Places of Truft in the Government, and within fuch Times, and in fuch Places as are particularly appointed by any of thofe Laws for doing the fame, fliall be deemed and taken to be fufficiently qualified to a£t in their refpe£tive Stations and Duties, and to execute their refpedive Employments throughout the faid whole united Kindgom, and all other, her Majefty's Dominions, and fhall not incur any Penalties, Forfeitures or Difabilities, for not taking the Oaths of Allegiance and Abjuration, and fubfcribing the Affurance appointed by any the Laws of that Part of the faid united Kingdom called Scotland or by any Law or Laws of the faid united Kingdom of Great Britain, to be taken and made by any Perfon in publick Truft, notwithftanding fuch Poftmafter General, and fuch Deputies and Officers, fhall exercife their refpeftive Offices and Employments within all and every the Parts and Places of that Part of the faid united Kingdom called Scotland: And all De- puties and Agents adling under fuch Poftmafter General within that Part of the faid united Kingdom cal- led Scotland, taking and making the Oaths of Allegiance and Abjuration, and fubfcribing the fame, with the Affurance appointed by an^ of the Laws of the faid Part of the faid united Kingdom called Scotland, or by any Law or Laws of the faid united Kingdom of Great Britain, to be taken and made by any Perfon in publick Truft, and within fuch Times, and at fuch Places, as are particularly appointed by any of thofe Laws for doing the fame, fhall be deemed and taken to be fufficiently qualified to execute and exer- cife their refpedtive Employments in the faid Office throughout the faid whole united Kingdom, and all Vol. IV.
