XLIX. Provided always, That every Officer, who fhall be impowered to make fuch Charge as is laft- Officers to be mentioned, (hall, in the firll: Place, be fworn for the due and faithful Execution of his Office, and the ^'^°'"- (^at'i in that Behalf fnall and may be adminiftred by all or any the Commiffioners of the faid Duties on Paper, or by any of her Miije{ty's Juftices of the Peace, who fhall give to fuch Officers a Certificate thereof. L. And for the better preventing of Frauds, it is hereby cnafled. That all and every the Officers of the Officers to take faid Duties on Paper, fliall alio be permitted to take an Account of the Quantities of Rags, Cordage, and ^n Account of other Materials for making the faid Paper, Pafl:boards, Mildboards, and Scaleboards, chargeable by this ^f=^ m f '^' Aft, which fliall be in the Cuflody or PoiFeffion of any Maker, and of all Paper in the Pofl'effion of any c^jflJ^'L, ^^"^ Perfon ufing the Art of printing, painting, or ftaining Paper, and of their refpeciive Proceedings in making, printing, painting, or ftaining the fame ; and if any fuch Maker or other Perfon fliall obftrudl or hinder any the faid Officers in the Execution of the Powers and Authorities given to him or them by this Adf, for afcertaining and fccuring the faid Duties relating to Paper, Paftboards, Mildboards, and Scaleboards, or the printing, painting, or ftaining thereof, the Offenders therein for every fuch Ofl-ence fliall forfeit the Sum of twenty Pounds. LI. LII. And it is hereby further enaftcd,That all and every Perfon and Perfons who fhall be Makers of Paper, P^Tf^"" Makerj furveyed and taken an Account of hy the faid Officers for the faid Duties thereupon, feparate and apart of 5 1. from all other their Paper and other Commodities aforefaid, which fhall have been furveyed and taken an yccount of by the faid Officers, for the Space of eight and forty Hours, after the m-aking, printing, paint- ing, or ftaining thereof, unlefs fach Paper, and other the Goods laft-mentioned, fhall have been fooner fur- veyed and taken an Account of by the faid Officers refpeflively, on Pain to forfeit for every fuch Offence I'lerein, the Sum of five Pounds. LIII. And be it further enafted. LIV. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That all Paper, Paftboards, Mildboards, and Paper, Paft- Scaleboards, and all Materials and Utenfils for making them, or any of them, or printing, painting, or ^°^^-'».'^'^-. ftaining fuch Paper, as aforefaid, which fliall be found in any private Ware-houfe, Work-houfe, Drying- (i',""i^ J" r'^"* room, or other Place tor makmg, or keepmg, or tor printing, painting, or itaming the lame, tor which unentred, for- no Entry fliall be made, or Notice given, as aforefaid, fliall be forfeited and loft, and the fame or the Va- feited, or the lue thereof fhall and may be feized and recovered by the faid OfEccr or OfEcers for the faid Duties upon Pa- "Value, per, to her Majefty 's Ufe.
