And to the End a Sum of Money may be raifed by way of a Lottery for and towards difcharging and cancelling the faid Exchequer-Bills remaining uncancelled, and other publick Services ; Be it further enafted 3o ; ooo 1. to be by the Authority aforefaid, That yearly and every Year, from and after the twenty-fourth Day of June one the yearly Fund thoufand feven hundred and twenty-fix, the full Sum of thirty thoufand Pounds by and out of the Monies, at three per which from and. after the faid Feaft-day fhall arife and be paid into the Receipt of the Exchequer of or for the faid Deductions of fix Pence in the Pound, fhall be, and the fame yearly Sum of thirty thoufand Pounds is by this Act declared and enacted to be a particular Fund and Security for anfwering and paying all and every the Annuities or yearly Payments, after theRate of three Pounds/?;- Centum per Annum,ta the Contributors in the Lottery herein after mentioned, their Executors, Adminiftrators and Affigns, in the Manner hereafter in this Aftexprefled, until the Redemption thereof, according to the Provifo hereafter in this Aft contained in that Behalf; and that the faid yearly Sum of thirty thoufand Pounds, or fo much thereof as fhall be fufE- cient to fatisfy and difcharge all the Sums which fnall grow due from Time to Time for or upon the faid An- nuities at the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, fhall from Time to Time be paid Half-yearly, To be paid Half, at Chriftmas and Midfummer, by even and equal Portions, until Redemption of the faid Annuities according yearly at the to the true Meaning of this Aft, at the faid Receipt of Exchequer, to the Chief Cafhier of the Governor Bank, and Company of the Bank of England for the Time being, by way of Impreft and upon Account for Pay- Firft Payment. on ment of the fame Annuities ; the firft Payment of the faid yearly Sum to the faid Cafhier to be made on the 15 Dec. 1726. twenty- fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-fix ; and the faid Commiflioners of his Majefty's Treafury now b'ing, and the High Treafurer, Under Treafurer and Commiflioners of the Treafury of his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffcrs for the Time being, are hereby ftriftly enjoined and re- quired to caufe the faid yearly Sum of thirty thoufand Pounds, or fo much thereof as fhall be fufficient, to be- imprefted and paid from Time to Time to the faid Cafhier accordingly, without any further or other Autho- rity for the fame ; any former Statute or Law to the contrary notwithftanding. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That for or towards raifing the faid Sum of one be Contributors. m ;jij on ; t fh a ]] anc j m ay be lawful for any Perfon or Perfons, Natives or Foreigners, Bodies Politick or Cor- porate, to contribute by paying, at or before the refpeftive Times by this Aft limited in that Behalf, to any Receiver or Receivers to be appointed for that Purpofe, as is herein after mentioned, the Sum of ten Pounds, or divers entire Sums of ten Pounds, upon this Aft ; and that every fuch Contributor or Adventurer for every fuch Sum of ten Pounds, which he, fhe or they fhall fo advance, fhall be interefted in fuch Lot or' Share of and in the faid yearly Fund eftablifhed by this Aft, as is herein after direfted and appointed, and the fame entire Sums of ten Pounds each are hereby appointed to be paid unto fuch Receiver or Receivers at fuch Time or Times, and in fuch Proportions at a Time, on or before the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-fix, as fhall be appointed by the Lords Commiflioners of his Majefty's Allowance for Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the Lord High Treafurer for the Time being ; and the faid promptPayment. Commiflioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or the High Treafurer for the Time being, are hereby impowered to caufe fuch an Allowance out of the Sum fo to be contributed, or any of them, for promptPayment, to be made as he or they in his or their Difcretion fhall think meet and reafonable. JVIajefly 's Treafury, or any three or more of them now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiflioners of the Treafury for the Time being, fhall nominate or appoint, fhall be Managers and Direftors for preparing and delivering out Tickets, and to overfee the Drawing of Lots, and to order, do and perform fuch other Matters and Things as are hereafter in and by this Aft direfted and appointed by Books with fu^-h Managers and Direftors to be done and performed ; and that fuch Managers and Direftors fhall meet to b" ^ared* to g etner fr° m Time to Time atfome publick Office or Place, for the Execution of the Powers and Trufts e prepare . .^ t j. em re p f ec j by t bi s Aft ; and that the faid Managers or Direftors, or fo many of them as fhall be pre- fent at fuch Meeting, or the major Part of them, fhall caufe Books to be prepared, in which every Leaf fhall be divided or diftinguifhed into three Columns, and upon the innermoft of the faid three Columns there fhall be printed one hundred thoufand Tickets, numb red one, two, three, and fo onwards in Arithmetical Pro- greflion, where the common Excefs is to be one, until they rife to and for the Number of one hundred thou- fand ; and upon the middle Column in every of the faid Books fhall be printed one hundred thoufand Tick- ets, of the fame Breadth and Form, and numbred in like Manner; and in the extreme Column of the faid Book"; there fhall be printed a third Rank or Series of Tickets, of the fame Number with thofe of the other two Columns ; which Tickets fhall feverally be of an oblong Figure, and in the faid Books fhall be joined with oblique Lines Flourifhes or Devices, in fuch Manner as the faid Managers and Direftors, or the ma- jor Part of them, fhall think moft fafe and convenient ; and that every Ticket in the third or extreme Column of the faid Books fhall have written or printed thereupon (befides the Number of fuch Ticket) Words to .this EfFeft, The Bearer hereof is entitled to feven Pounds ten Shillings, Part of the Joint Stock of one mi/lion, attended with Annuities after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, or to a bet- ter Chance.
