And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Clothier, Sergemaker, Woollen cio-hicrs p.ivi- or Worfted Stuffmaker, or Perfon concerned in making any Woollen Cloths, Serges or Stuff's, or any Wj^rs in Good's ways concerned in employing Woolcombers, Weavers or other Labourers in the Woollen Manufactory as &c ' forfeit 10J. aforefaid, fhall pay any Perfon or Perfons imployed by them their Wages or other Price agieed on, or any • Part thereof, either in Goods or by way of Truck, or in any other Manner than in Money as aforefaid, contrary to the true Intent and Meaning of this Act ; every Perfon fo offending fhall alfo forfeit and pay the Sum of ten Pounds ; one Moiety thereof to the Informer, and the other Moiety to the Party or Parties ag- grieved, to be levied by Diftrefs and Sale of the Offenders Goods as aforefaid,. rendring the Overplus (if any be) to the Owner. V. Provided always, That it (hall and may be lawful for any Perfon aggrieved by any Order or Orders Appeal to the to be made by any two or more Juftices of the Peace as aforefaid, to appeal to the Tuftices of the Peace af- Quarter-Sef- fembled at the next General Quarter-Seffions to be holden for the County, City, Divifion, Parifti or Place fions ' ■ w ? here fuch Order (hall be made, giving reafonable Notice of fuch Appeal, the Reafonablenefs of which Notice fhall be determined by the Juftices of the Peace at the Quarter-Seffions to which the Appeal is made ; and if it fhall appear to them, that reafonable Time of Notice was not given, then they fhall adjourn the . faid Appeal to the next Quarter-Seffions, and then and there finally hear and determine the fame; and the juftices wdio in the General Quarter-Seffions fhall hear the Matter, fhall have Power to award reafonable ■ Cofts to either Party, as to them fhall feem juft. And be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons fhall, after the twenty- A (fruiting or ■ fourth Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-fix, affault or abuie thicatning Mi-, any Mailer Woolcornber or Mafter Weaver, or other Perfon concerned in any of the Woollen Manufactures fters > &c - f e - of this Kingdom, whereby any fuch Mafter, or other Perfon fhall receive any bodily Hurt, for not comply- ^ ingwith, or not conforming, or not fubmjtting to .any fuch illegal By Laws, Ordinances, Rules or Orders ■ aforefaid ; or if any Perfon- or Perfons fhall-write or caufe to be written, or knowingly fend or caufe to be fe'nt, any Letter, or other Writing or Meflage, threatning any Hurt or Harm to any fuch Mafter 'Wool- cornber or Mafter Weaver, or other Perfon concerned in the Woollen Manufacture, or threatning to burn, pull down or deftroy any of their Houfes or Outhoufes, or to cut down or deftroy any of their Trees, or to maim or kill any of their Cattle, for not complying with any Demands, Claims or Pretences of any of his or their Workmen, or others employed by them in the faid Manufacture, or for not conforming or not fubmitting to any fuch illegal By-Laws, Ordinances, Rules or Orders as aforefaid ; every Perfon fo know- ingly and wilfully offending in the Pretniffes, being thereof lawfully convicted upon any Indictment, to be found within twelve Calendar Months next after any fuch Offence committed, fhall be adjudged guilty of Felony, and fhall be tranfporied for feven Years to fome or one of his Majefty's Colonies or Plantations in America, by fuch Ways, Means and Methods, and in fuch Manner and under fuch Pains and Penalties, as Felons in other Cafes are by Law to be tranfported. , VII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons fhall, by Day Breaking into » or by Night, break into any Houfe or Shop, or enter by Force into any Houfe or Shop, with Intent to cut Shop to cut any or deftroy any'Serge or other Woollen Goods in the Loom, or any Tools employed in the making .thereof, Serges, &c. IV • or fnall wilfully and malicioufly cut or deftroy any fuch Serges or Woollen Goods in the Loom or on the y ' Rack, or (hall bum, cut or deftroy any Rack on which any fuch Serges or other Woollen Goods are hanged in order to dry, or fhall wilfully and malicioufly break or deftroy any Tools ufed in the making any fuch Serges or other Woollen Goods, not having the Confent of the Owner fo to do, every fuch Offender, being thereof lawfully convicted, fhall be adjudged guilty of Felony, and fhall fuller Death as in cafe of Felony, without Benefit of Clergy. c VIII.
