' Part of the faid Principal Sum, then from and after fuch Payment fo made, fo much of the faid Annuity, ' as mould bear Proportion to the Money fo paid in Part of the faid Principal, fhould ceafe, determine, c and be abated, as by the faid feveral Acts of Parliament (Relation being thereunto had) more fully and ' at large doth and may appear:' Now to the Intent that the Sum of one million may be raifed and ap- plied towards redeeming a proportional Part of the faid laft mentioned Annuity, in the Manner herein af- Outof the Sink- ter mentioned, Be it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid,. Ttlte Overplus of XXIII. Provided always, and be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all the Monies which fhall ti ;SinkingFund arife for the faid Surpluffes, Excefles and Overplus Monies commonly called the Sinking Fund (over and 1pV° beyond what will fatisfy and pay the feveral Sums before mentioned, and fuch other Charges as have been " ; ; ..',- , s heretofore made thereon by Authority of Parliament) mail be appropriated, referved and applied to and for e .:. 1 7 1 5. the further difcharging the Principal and Intereft of fuch national Debts and Incumbrances, as were in- curred before the twenty-fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen, and are declared to be national Debts, and were provided for by Act or Acts of Parliament, in fuch Manner and Form as fhall be directed by any future Act or Acts of Parliament, to be difcharged therewith or out of the fame, and to and for no other Ufe, Intent or Purpofe whatfoever. 53 Geo. 1. c. 3. * XXIV. And whereas in and by a certain Act of Parliament made in the thirteenth Year of the Reign of his faid late Majefty King George the Firft, For redeeming fundry Annuities transferable at the Bank of England, it was amongft other things enacted, That certain Lottery-Tickets therein mentioned, amount- ing to one hundred and three thoufand two hundred and feventy-two Pounds and ten Shillings, then ly- ing as Cafh in the Exchequer, on the Head of the Sinking Fund, or the Annuity given for the fame, or any Part thereof, might be affigned or transferred to fuch Perfon or Perfons, as, being Proprietors of cer- tain Standing Orders made out for certain Debentures for the Sufferers at Nevis and Saint Chriftophcrs, fhould voluntarily deliver up to be cancelled the like or equal Sum or Sums in any of the faid Debenture Orders ; and by the fame Act the Time for taking in fuch Orders, in order to be cancelled, was limited to any Time before the twenty-fourth Day of 'June one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-feven, as by the faid recited Act, relation thereto being had, more fully may appear: And whereas in purfuance of the faid Ace, feveral of the faid Standing Orders were fatisfied and difcharged by and out of Part of the faid Sum of one hundred and three thoufand two hundred and feventy-two Pounds and ten Shillings, fo lying as Cafh in the Exchequer; but the Time thereby limited for exchanging the fame being too fhort, feveral Perfons who were and a°e willing and defirous to acept of the Remainder thereof in Satisfaction Standing Orders c of the faid Debenture Orders, are excluded from the Benefit thereof;' Be it therefore enacted by the Au- fbr S^erera at thority aforefaid, That all and every the Powers, Authorities and Directions, given in and by the faid Act Chriitophcrs' °^ P ar 'i am ent for or relating to' the cancelling and difcharging the faid Standing Debentures, by or out of may be delivered t' 16 *" a '^ Lottery-Tickets, or the Annuity given for the fame, mall be and are hereby renewed, ratified up for .Lottery- and confirmed, and fhall remain, continue and be in full Force and Effect, to all Intents and Purpofes, un- Tickets. ti! the whole of the faid Sum of one hundred and three thoufand two hundred and feventy-two Pounds and ten Shillings, fhall be actually iffied or applied to the cancelling and difcharging of an equal or like prin- cipal Sum in the faid Standing Debenture Orders. Prfcvl - ( ' 0, XXV. Provided always, That the Perfon or Perfons who fhall accept or take the Annuity given for the faid Lottery-Tickets in lieu and fatisfaction of any principal Sum or Surs, contained in any Standing Or- der or Orders to be delivered up to be cancelled, fhall not be intitled to any more of the Annuity attending thereon, than what fhall be grown due from and after the Half-yearly Feaft Day, on which the fame is pay- able, which fhall be next preceding the Time of delivering up and cancelling of fuch Debenture Order or Orders; to which faid Feaft-Day the Intereft then due on fuch Order or Orders fhall be pad out of the Pro- duce of the Fund, on which the lame is now charged or chargeable. i Geo. 1.
