C. 9. 47 ' and remain for the Difpofition of Parliament : ' Now we, your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Sub- jects the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament affembled, being defirous to raife the neceffary Sup- plies' which we have cheerfully granted to your Majefty in the eafeft Manner we are able for the Benefit of your Subjects, have freely and voluntarily given and granted, and do by this Act give and grant unto vour Majefty, the Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, to be railed in fuch .Manner and Form as is herein after directed ; and to that End do moft humbly b^feech your Majefty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and-Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal and Commons in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Au- thority of the fame, That the Annuities which by this Act fhall be granted and made payable in i,ioo,oool. to Refpect of the faid principal Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, until Redemption chareedontfco thereof by Parliament in Manner herein after mentioned, (hall, from and after the Feaft of the Nativity additional of Saint John Baptifl one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-one, be charged and chargeable upon, and stamp Duties, payable o'ut of the Monies which, from and after the faid Feaft-Day, (hall from Time to Time arife into the Exchequer, by or from the (aid additional Duties on damped Vellum, Parchment and Paper j and the faid additional Duties are hereby appropriated for that Purpofe. II. And it is hereby enacted, That all the Monies arifing by the faid additional Duties on (tamped The Monies Vellum, Parchment and Paper for Payment of the feveral and refpective Annuities which (hall be pay- a^iomX un- able upon this Act, (hall be fairly and duly entered in one or more Book or Books to be kept in tiestobeentred. the Offices of the Auditor of the Receipt of Exchequer and Clerk of the Pells for that Purpofe, to which all Perfons concerned, at all feafonable Times, (hall have free Accefs without Fee or Charge. III. And for or towards railing the faid Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding in the whole the Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, it is hereby further enacted by the Authority afore- faid, That it (hall and may be lawful to and for any Perfon or Perfons, Natives or Foreigners, Bo- Annuities ; at ^ 1. dies Politick or Corporate, to contribute,, advance and pay into the Receipt of his Majefty's Exche- p °rAnn r . to"' quer for his Majefty's Ufe, at fuch Time or Times as (hall be appointed by the Commiffioners of the commence from Treafury, or any three or more of them now being, or by the High Treasurer, or any three or more zaSept- "7S 1 - of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the Time being, any Sum or Sums of Money not exceeding four hundred thoufand Pounds in Part of the faid whole Sum of one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, for the abfolute Purchafe of any certain Annuity or Annuities, to commence from the twenty- ninth Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-one, and to be paid and payable to fuch Contributor or Contributors, or fuch as he, (he or they (hall nominate his, her or their Exe- cutors, Adminiftrators, Succeflbrs and Affigns refpectively, until the Redemption thereof by Parliament, in Manner herein after contained in that Behalf ; which certain Annuities (hall be computed at the Rate of three Pounds ten Shillings per Amium for every one hundred Pounds, and proportionably for any greater Sum fo to be advanced and paid ; and the Purchafe Money fo paid for every fuch Annuity at the Rate aforefaid, is hereby appointed to be paid into the faid Receipt of Exchequer at the Time or Times before mentioned ; all which Annuities fo to be purchafed, (hall be paid and payable at two of the moft and paid Half* ufual Feafts or Days of Payment in the Year, that is to fay, the Feaft of the Annunciation of the bleffed y ea "y.- Virgin Mary and Saint Michael the Archangel, by even and equal Portions ; the firft Payment thereof to be due and payable at the Feaft of the Annunciation of the bleffed Virgin Mary in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-two. IV. And it is hereby enacted, That in the Offices of the Auditor of the Receipt and Clerk of the Contributors Pells in the Exchequer feverally, there fhall be provided and kept a Book or Books, in which there beeSrecUn the- fhall be fairly entered the Names of all Perfons who fhall be Contributors for fuch certain Annui- Books of the ties as aforefaid, and of all Perfons by whofe Hands the faid Contributors fhall pay in any of the Auditor and faid Sums upon this Act, and alfo the Sums paid for fuch Annuities ; to which Book it fhall be p^[£ ° lawful for the faid refpective Contributors, their Executors, Adminiftrators and Affigns from Time to Time, and at all feafonable Times, to have Refort and to infpect the fame without Fee or Re- ward. V. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all and every the Annuities fo to Annuities how be purchafed upon this prefent Act, fhall be and are hereby charged upon, and lhall be paid and pay- t0 e pal ' able, from Time to Time, out of the Money arifing by the faid additional Duties on ftamped Vellum, Parchment and Paper by this Act directed to be applied for the Payment thereof, ar.d that all and every Contributor and Contributors upon this Act, duly paying the Confideration or Purchafe Money at the Rate aforefaid, at the Time or limes in this A.ct limited in that Behalf for any fuch An- nuity or Annuities as aforefaid, or fuch as he, fhe or they (hall appoint his, her or their refpective Exe- cutors, Adminiftrators, Succeflbrs and Affigns, fhall have" receive and enjoy,, and be intitled by Virtue of this Act to have, receive and enjoy the refpective Annuity and Annuities fo to be purchafed out of' the Monies by this Act appropriated, until the Redemption thereof by Parliament, according to the Provifo_ herein after contained in that Behalf; and that all and every fuch Purchafers, their E ecutors, Adminiftrators, Succeflbrs and Affigns refpectively, fhall have good, fure, abfolute ai;d indefeafible Eftates and Interefts in the feveral Annuities, fo by them refpectively to be purchafed, according to the Tenor and true Meaning of this Act ; and that ail fuch Eftates and Interefts of and in the faid An- nuities and every of them, fhall be, and be adjudged, taken and accepted in Conftruction of Law, and in all Courts of Law and Equity whatfoever, to be a Perfonal and not a Real Eftate, and (hall go a Perfonal to the Executors or Adminiftrators of the Perfon or Perfons dying poffelTed thereof, interefted therein or Eftate ' intitled thereunto, and not to the Heirs of fuch Perfon or Perfons ; any Law, Cuftorn or Ufage to the contrary
