Claufe of Loan Jjf, And be it further •enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That for and towards raifing the faid Sum of a>, 3 !., [at Cent. £y e hundred and eighteen thoufand fix hundred Pounds, herein before given and granted to his Majefty towards the Supplies of this prefent Year, it fhall and may be lawful to and for the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or any three or more of them now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the Time being, to raife the faid Sum of five hundred' and eighteen thoufand fix hundred Pounds, or any Part thereof, by Loans or Exchequer Bills, in Manner herein after mentioned; and that it fhall and may be lawful to and for any Perfon or Perfons, Natives or Foreigners, Bodies Politick and Corporate, to advance or lend to his Majefty at the Receipt of his Ma- jefty's Exchequer, any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding the faid Sum of five hundred and eigh- teen- thoufand fix hundred Pounds, upon the Credit of the Duties upon Licences herein before mentioned,' and to have and receive for the Forbearance of the Money lent, Intereft after a Rate not exceeding three Pounds per Centum per Annum ; fo as fuch Loans be allowed to be made by the Commiffioners of the' Treafury, or any three' or more of them now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the Time being, who are hereby authorized to iflue their War- . rants for that Purpofe, as faft as fuch Loans fhall be wanted for the publick Service ; and moreover, that- no Money fo to be lent upon the Security of this Act fhall be rated or afiefled to any Tax or Affeftment 1 w.hatioever.
