And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all the Annuities payable to from Taxes. fuch Contributors out of the faid yearly Fund, fhall be free from all Taxes, Charges, and Impofitions whatfoever. New Orders in ' LXXV. And whereas it may fo happen, that in Procefs of Time, feveral of the faid {landing Orders what Cafes to be t. ^ Q ] {^ burnt or deftroyed, or may become defaced, obliterated or incumbered with many Affign- madeoutj { m ents endorfed thereon, and it may be neceffary that new Orders fhould be made forth in lieu thereof;' Be it therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That in all or any the faid Cafes, any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commimoners of the Treafury for the Time being, fhall, and they are hereby impowered from Time to Time (upon Certificate under the Hand of the Lord Chief Baron, or any other the Barons of the Coif of his Majefiy's Court of Exchequer, that he or they are fatisfied by Proof upon Oath before him or them made, that any fuch Order or Orders have been loft, burnt or otherwife deftroyed) to caufe new Orders to be made forth at the Exchequer, to be figned by him or them, in lieu of fuch Orders fo certified to be Joft, burnt or deftroyed ; and the refpective Officers in the faid Exchequer are hereby directed to pay the Intereft, which fhall from Time to Time become due upon fuch new Orders, as if the original Order or Orders had been produced ; and all fuch Payments fhall be allowed in their refpeclive Accounts, provided that the Perfon or Perfons intitled to receive the Intereft due upon any fuch Order or Orders, do give Se- curity to the King, to the good liking of the Perfon appointed to pay the fame, to pay into the Exche- quer for the Ufe of the PubJick, fo much Money as fhall be paid thereupon, if the Order or Orders fo certified to be loft, burnt or otherwife deftroyed, be hereafter produced ; and the faid Commimoners of the Treafury., or the High Treafurer for the Time being, fhall and are hereby alfo impowered to caufe r.ew ftanding Orders to be made forth, for and in lieu of fuch Orders as fhall become defaced, obliterated Entries to be" or otherwife incumbered as aforefaid ; which faid Orders lhall be at the fame Time delivered up, and rru.de upon new cancelkd, and the new Order or Orders to be made out in lieu thereof, fhall be made payable, and deli- Oi-ders. vered to the Perfon or Perfons who fhall appear to be the Proprietor or Proprietors of the faid Order or Orders fo to be delivered up, and cancelled at the Time of fuch Delivery up as aforefaid ; and the Audi- tor of the Receipt aforefaid fhall always take care that fuch Entries or Memorandums be made upon the faid new Orders, as may denote their being made in lieu of fuch defaced, obliterated, incumbered or otherwife defective Orders cancelled, and as may fecure the Publick againft any double Payments, for or by Reafon of the making out, or iffuing fuch new Orders in Manner aforefaid. Counterfeiting of LXXVI. And for preventing all Frauds and Abufes in or about the faid ftanding Orders, or any Af- Orders, Affign- fignments thereof, or the receiving the Annuities due or to grow due thereon; Be it enacted by the Ail- ments, &c. thority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons whatfoever fhall forge or counterfeit, or procure to be forged or counterfeited, or knowingly or wilfully act and affift in the forging or counterfeiting any Certi- ficate or Certificates to be given by fuch Receiver or Receivers, or any Order or Orders, to be made forth in lieu thereof, in purfuance of this prefent Act, or any Affignment or Affignments of fuch Order or Or- ders, or of the Annuities payable thereon, or of any Receipt or Difcharge to the Exchequer, for the An- nuities due or to grow due on any fuch Order or Orders, or of any Letter of Attorney, or other Autho- rity or Inftrument, to transfer, affign, alien or convey any fuch Order or Orders, or to receive the An- nuities due or to grow due thereon, or any Part thereof, or -fhall forge or counterfeit, or procure to be forged or counterfeited, or knowingly or wilfully act or affift in the forging or counterfeiting any the Name or Names of any of the Proprietors of any fuch Order or Orders, in" or to any fuch pretended Af- fignment or Affignments, Receipt, Letter of Attorney, Inftrument or Authority, or fhall knowingly or fraudulently demand, or endeavour to have or receive any fuch Annuity or Annuities, or any Part thereof, by virtue of any fuch forged or counterfeited Receipt, Letter of Attorney, Certificate, inftrument or Au- thority, or fhall falfly and deceitfully perfonate any true and_ real Proprietor or Proprietors of any of the faid Order or Orders, and thereby affign or endeavour to affign any of the faid Order or Orders, or receive or endeavour to receive the Money of fuch true and lawful Proprietor, as if fuch Offender were the true and lawful Owner thereof; then, and in every fuch Cafe, all and every Perfon and Perfons being thereof Felony, lawfully convicted in due Form of Law, fhall be adjudged guilty of Felony, and fhall fuffer as in Cafes of Felony, without Benefit of Clergy. NoFeeforre- LXXVII. And be it further enacted. That no Fee, Reward or Gratuity whatfoever, fhall be de- ceiving Contri- manded or taken of any of his Majefiy's Subjects, for receiving or paying the faid Contribution Agonies, butjons, paying or an y f them, or for paying the faid feveral Annuities,- or any of them, or for any Transfer of any nnuiues, -c. g um ^ g,- ea t or final], to be made in purfuance of this Act, upon Pain that any Officer or Perfon offend- ing, by taking or demanding any fuch Fee, Reward or Gratuity, fhall forfeit the Sum of twenty Pounds to the Party aggrieved, with full Colts of Suit ; and that all Receipts and IfTues, and all other Things directed by this Act to be performed in the Exchequer, lhall be done and performed by the Officers there, without demanding or receiving, directly or indirectly, any Fee, Reward or Gratuity for the fame; and Penalty on Mif- m ca fe the Officers of Exchequer fhall take or demand any fuch Fee or Reward, or fhall mifapply or di- applicatioh of vert any of the Monies to be paid into the Exchequer upon this Act, or fhall pay or iffue out of the fame, Monies, &c. otherwife than according to the Intent of this Act, or lhall not keep fuch Books or Regifters, or make Entries, and do and perform all other Things which by this Act they are directed and required to do and perform; every fuch Officer fhall forfeit his Place, and be for ever after incapable of any Office or Place of Truft whatfoever, arid fhall anfvver and pay Treble Cofts of Suit to any Contributor, or Perfon claim- ing
