LVII. Provided always, and be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That the Commilfioners of the Salaries for Treafury, or any three or more of them now being, or the High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Calhicrs, &c, Commiffioners of the Treafury for the time being, fhall have Power, and they are hereby authorized to fettle and appoint fuch Allowances (out of the Contributions to the Annuities granted by this Aft) as they fliall think juft and reafonable, for the Service, Pains and Labour of the Cafhier or Cafhiers of the Go- vernor and Company of the Bank ol England, for receiving and accounting for the faid Contributions ; and alfo fuch further Allowances (out of the frid feveral Rates and Duties by this Aft appropriated) as they fhall think jufl and reafonable, for receiving, paying and accounting for the feveral and refpeftive Annui- ties payable in refpeft thereof; and alfo for the Service, Pains, and trouble of the Accomptant General of the faid Governor and Company for performing the Duty and Trufl incumbent or him by this Aft: All which Allowances hereby impowered to be made as aforefaid, in refpeft of the Service, Pains, and Labour of any Officer or Officers of the faid Governor and Company, fhall be for the Ufe and Benefit of the faid Governor and Company, and at their Dilpofal only ; any thing herein contained to the contrary notwith- flanding. ' LVIIL And whereas the faid Duties upon Houfes granted by the firft herein recited Aft of the feventh ' and eighth Years of the Reign of his late Majcfty King William the Third, are (together with fundry • other Duties and Revenues, commonly called The General or Aggregate Fund) charged with, and liable to ' pay feveral Annuities and other Payments, to feveral Corporations and other Perfons intitled thereunto; ' and it may fo happen, that by repealing the faid Rates and Duiiss upon Houfes, the Funds charged with ' the Payments aforefaid may prove deficient: And whereas by a Medium of five Years, computed from ' the twenty-ninth Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and forty-one, the Sum of ninety-one ' thoufand four hundred eighty-five Pounds and fix Pence three Farthings, is taken to have been the annual ' Produce of the faid Rates and Duties upon Houfes to the faid Fund, towards anfv/ering the feveral Pay- ' ments aforefaid :' To the end therefore that no Perfon or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corporate whatfo- ever, who are intitled to any Part, Share, or Interefl in the Monies arifmg by the faid Rates and Duties upon Houfes, may be Lofers, or receive any Prejudice by the repealing thereof as aforefaid ; Be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid. LIX. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. Aft granted as aforefaid, all the reft and refidue of the Monies arifing into the Exchequer of or for the faid Rates and Duties, fhall, froin time to time, be ilTued and applied to fatisfy and pay the feveral and refpec- tive Annuities, and other Charges by this Aft charged upon and made payable out of the fame, at fuch Times, and in fuch Manner, as is herein before direfted in that Behalf, until Redemption thereof by Par- liament as aforefaid. ' LX.
