And whereas by an Adl made in the tenth Year of the Reign of his prefent Majefty, intituled, An ' ASi for rehiiUdtng the Church of the PariJJi of Saint Olave in the City ^London, andin the Borough «/'South- ' wark, in the County o/" Surry, all Lands, Houfes, Tenements and Hereditaments, within the faid Parifii, ' were charged, and are flill chargeable, with AfTefrments to be made thereon, not exceeding fix Pence in the ' Pound in any one Year, of the yearly Rent of fuch Lands, Houfes, Tenements and Hereditaments, as the ' fame fliould ho. afcertained and rated by the Land-Tax, payable for the fame ; two third Parts of which Af- ' fcfiinents were to be paid by the Landlords or Owners, and the other third Part was to be paid by the Te- ' nants or Occupiers of fuch Lands, Houfes, Tenements and Hereditaments, for and towards the Expence ' of rebuilding the faid Parifh Church, and until the fame fhould be finiflied : And whereas the faidPariQi ' Church is not yet finifhed ; and there remain feveral Debts unpaid, which have been con tracSed by the ' faid Parifh, on account of the rebuilding the faid Church, which the faid Parifh is now charged with, and ' liable to pay : And whereas feveral of the Houfes charged and chargeable with the faid Affeflment, will be ' taken down, and the Ground whereon they ftand will be applied to the Ufe of the faid Bridge, whereby , ^,, ^, ' the faid Parifh of Saint Olave will lofe the AfTeflmcnts charged and chargeable thereon ;' Be it therefore Rates chargeable eiia<3:ed by the Authority aforefaid. If the City (liall XXIL Provided further, and it is hereby alfo enadted, That if for the enlarging or altering the faid Bridge, remove any of or any of the Archcs thereof, in purfuance of this Adt, the faid Mayor, Aldermen and Commons, in Com- the Water I'ipes, jnon Coimcil aflembled, fhall caufe to be amoved, or taken away, any of the Leaden Pipes which belong to the Proprietors ^'^ f^'d Proprietors of the faid London Bridge Water-works, and now lie on, or contiguous to the faid iTnyhyriown Britlge, for conveying Water from their Water-works, then and in fuch Cafe, the faid Proprietors of the Mhe-p, where faid London Bridge Water- works fliall have Liberty, anti they are hereby authorized, at all Times then af- agreed on j jg^^ at their Coits, to place or lay down, in lieu of fuch Pipes, which fhall be ib amo'ed or taken away, other Lead or L'on Pipes upon and over fuch Part and Parts of the faid Bridge, and contiguous thereto, as fliall be agreed on betweeii them and the faid Mayor, Aldermen and Coii.mons, in Common Council af- femblcd ; and that until the Pipes which now lie on, or contiguous to the faid Bridge, fhall be ainoved or taken away, the faid Proprietors of the faid London Bridge Water-works are hereby authorized, from Time a J repair the '^ Time, as Occafion fliall require, to repair or amend the fame ; and after the amoval or taking away any j(jn,t.
