That no private Mill {hall, by the Order or Direction of the Commiflioners for any of the faid refpe6five Difl:ri£ls, be taken .down, removed or altered, or be employed for the Purpofes of this A6V, until fuch Rccompence and Satisfat^ioii {liall be made to the Owner or Ov/ncrs of every fuch Mill fo to be taken down, altered or employed, as fhall be agreed upon between fuch rcfpective Commif- fioners and Owner or Owners, and not otherwife, which Rccompence or Satisfaction fuch refpeitivc Commiffioners fhall caufe to be paid to fuch Owner or Owners out of the Monies to be raifed by virtue of this Act within, or in relation to fuch refpeclive Diftricl j anything herein before contained to the contrary notwithftanding. XIL And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That the Commiflioners for the faid refpec- tive Di{lri£l:s fliall be and are hereby impowered from time to time to appoint fuch CollctStor or Collodlors, Receiver or Receivers, and fuch other Officer or Officers for executing or taking care of fuch Works, and for collecting the Taxes or A{l"c{rments which fhall be rated or aflcffed in each of the faid Diftricts ; and tc» allow them fuch Wages or Salaries for their Trouble and Pains therein, as they the faid refpective Corii-'.- miffioners {hall think reafonable ; and fuch Collectors or Receivers fhall, before they a6t in the ExecutioA of their refpective Offices, if the fame fliall be required by any one or more of the Commiffioners for the refpective Diftrict, give fuch Security for the due Execution of their feveral Offices, and for performing the Trufts to them committed, as the faid refpective Commiffioners fliall think fit. XIIL Provided always. That no Perfon whatever fhall a£t as a Commiffioner during the Time he fliall hold any Office of Profit in or relating to the Execution of this Act. XIV. And be it further enaifled by the Authority aforefaid, That it fliall be lawful for the Confimif-, fioners for the faid refpeiftive Difl:ri(5ts, afTemblcd at their fiirft and at any general half-yearly Meeting or'* Meetings, to aflefs, rate and tax, all and every the Ov/ner and Owners, Occupier and Occupiers of all ' and fuigular the Fen Lands and Low Grounds in fuch refpedtive Diftrijts, by an equal and proportion- able Acre Rate or Tax, not exceeding in any one Year the refpedtive Sums following ; that is to fay. Not exceeding one Shilling for every Acre in the firft and fourth Djftricts ; not exceeding tliree Shillings for every Acre in the fecond Diflridt ; not exceeding five Shillings for every Acre in the third Diftridt ; nor exceeding two Shillings for every Acre in the fifth and fixth DiftriCts ; and to appoint under their . Hands, fuch certain Days and Places for the Payment of fuch Taxes to the refpedtive Colledtors or Re-, ccivcrs, as they the faid Commiflioners fnall think proper, XV. Provided always. That Ramfey Hern, and all other Commons within the feveral Diftridts, be ex- empt from all Taxes to be afl'clfed by virtue of this Act. XVL And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That if any Perfon or Pcrfons fo rated or. afillTed as aforefaid, fliall refufe or ncgledt to pay the Tax or AfTcffitient charged upon him, her or them refpc-dtively, within the Space of twenty-one Days after the refpedtive 'I'imcs of Payment to be appointed as aforefaid, publick Notice thereof being affixed upon the Welt Door of the Parifh Church oi Ramfey^ on Demand made by the refpedtive Colledtor or Colledtors, Receiver or Receivers, or by any other Per- fon or Perfons authorized by him or them rcfpcdtivcly for that Purpofc j it fhall be lawful for fuch Col- ledtor or Collectors, Receiver or Receivers, or fuch other Perfon or Perfons, by virtue of any Warrant or Precept under the Hands and Seals of two or more of the Commiffioners for the '•cfpcdtive Diftridt (which Warrant or Precept fuch Commiffioners, or any two or more of them are hereby impowcred and required from time to time to make as Occafion fliall require) to levy the Sum or Sums fo rated or anefTed^ "^ .".nd all the Arrears thereof, by Diflrefs of the Hay, Corn, or other Goods and Chattels which fhalj bef ; found upon all or any the Grounds and PremifTes, for or in refpedt whereof fuch Taxes or Afleflinents * fhall be due; and fuch Corn, Hay, and other Goods and Chattels, to keep for the Space of five Days', at the Charge of the Owner or Owners thereof; and if iuch Owner or Owners fliall not within the faid' Space of five Days pay the Sum or Sums fo rated or aRcifed, the Goods and Chattels fo diftrained fhall be appraifed by tv/o or more Inhabitants of the Parifli or Place where the fame fliall be taken, or other • fufficient Pcrfons, and fliall be fold by the Perfon or Pcrfons making fuch Diflrcfs ; and the Overplus remaining, after the Rates or AffefGncnts, and the reafonable Charges of making, detaining, and felling fuch Diflr. fs arc fatisfied, fliall be returned to fuch Owner or (3wner^ upon Demand: And the Tenant ' and Tenanvs of all and lingular the faid f ,ar,ds and Groiiiids v;hich fliall be alTcficd or rated by virtue of . thij Adt, is and arc hereby ictjuircd and authorised to pay the Sum and Suijis io ailelled or rated, and to ' deduct
